The color looks great and I agree with Nokia's concept that why live in a colorless mobile world, when you can get the 3530. The 3530 supports as many as seven lines of text during SMS. Most times, though, the phone uses a larger-than-normal font that's easy on the eye. They keypad is totally different from the normal conventional style. However the 2 and 5 , similarly the 0 & 8 have be placed on a circular pad. This requires some getting used to. At 106 gms and a block form factor, the 3530 can not be said to be bulky or heavy but it sits comfortably in the hand. One can of course not compare it to the tiny midgets available now since that is a different league.

On the feature front the 3530 does have MMS and Java application compatibility. The color screen is really good with a high-resolution that supports 4096 colors. MMS allows you to share ReviewsPics, attached audio files and accompanying text. The sounds can be used as ringtones while the photos can be saved as wallpapers. The Xpress panels are changeable color panels with some really cool color options. Special gaming covers are also available for a heightened gaming experience such as 4 way scrolling. The Glow in dark panels are the coolest as the phone gives off an eerie glow in the dark not only looking great but also allowing you to find it easily ;) The background lights are rhythmic and dance to the tune of the accompanying ringtones. This feature has been very popular and Nokia is making it a point to include it in this later generation of cell phone another user friendly function is the auto key guard. Even if you forget to lock the keypad, the phone will automatically do it for you thus preventing accidental depressing of keys. Standard functions such as alarm clock, Calendar have also been thrown in for good measure. The calendar is more of an organizer which allows you to store notes and set an alarm for alerting you at a particular time for that work also.

Polyphonic ringtones are also present and a large number of new ones ca be downloaded via WAP. New Game packs, Java Applications which can be constantly updated from WAP ensure that you never become bored. All SMS functions are present (Chatting / Concatenated SMS etc) and unique SMS alert tone selection is a bonus. Since the 3530 is a GSM based mobile, it has the GPRS technology for high speed data transfers. Java compatibility means that the user can download his required applications and not depend on the manufacturer to decide what he will need. It also means good news for gamers, any game based on the J2ME protocol can be downloaded and played.

Other features include those such as Stopwatch, calculator, countdown timer. Then there is the wallet function which Nokia is including in all its latest phones. This feature lets you store credit card numbers and other personal info for making payments online.

Four games have been pre included in the 3530; these are the Sky Diver, bowling, Backgammon and Airglide. More can be downloaded from the net or one may also access Club Nokia. About 1 Mb of memory is available for sharing between all these applications (Java). Wireless internet is supported and WAP 1.2.1 is present.

The cover is translucent in some places, making it look all the more attractive. However the display is a passive matrix one which has just 4096 colors. Then again what the 3530 offers is the best value for money and one can seriously not expect to get anything better in the market from any other manufacturer either.
